THE AXION AXN-8701 7 INCH HANDHELD LCD TV – YOU WILL EITHER LOVE IT OR HATE IT

[affmage source="amazon" results="1"]Axion AXN 8701 7 LCD TV[/affmage]

Handheld televisions are very popular among those who experience power outages during hurricanes in the coastal areas and those who wouldn’t like to miss a thing of their favorite show on the go. The mere experience of being able to watch TV whenever and wherever is the concept that makes these devices going in the market. But the success of such devices depends purely on the location the user intends to use the item as signals play a crucial role here and there would be no meaning to the device itself where it does not catch signals.

The main advantage of the AXN-8701 is that it comes with an external antenna in addition to the one that is inbuilt in the device. It can be moved around the place to check where it is capable of receiving more signals and stationed at such a point while the television remains where it is intended to be. There is a cable that connects the TV and the external antenna, though, so care has to be taken while setting it up. The auto scan has to be run in order to check the signals and see how many channels it is able to receive. Once it does the job perfectly, the picture is sharp and clear. Even though the unit is not HD, the screen is bright with amazing colors.

Since it is a digital TV it can pull more digital channels than analog ones and the picture quality too is better for digital than analog. The unit has a magnetic mount at it bottom making it convenient to place in any location. Also, there is a back stand that can be used to rest the unit on flat surfaces. It is also easy to select the stations and it comes in handy mostly during emergencies and where satellite TV cannot be accessed. In order to use it at home as a secondary television, the unit has to be connected to the main house antenna to get more stations. There is a ninety degree adapter included in the package that can be used to easily switch between the two antennas.

[affmage source="amazon" results="1"]Axion AXN 8701 7 LCD TV[/affmage]

What most users complain about this unit is that it does not catch the signals. That might be a problem with the location itself rather than the TV as there are many satisfied customers who don’t have to say anything negative about the unit. The other problem faced by almost all the users is the short battery life which again decreases as the product gets old and cannot be charged using the car adapter provided. Though the additional antenna is an advantage when it comes to reception, it does not serve the purpose of having a portable TV. The analog signal reception and the picture quality is weak. The remote of the unit is very flimsy and does not include volume up/down buttons and the on/off button. Also the customer support is found to be very bad for the TV.

A great unit if every thing is fine with the reception. Otherwise, its a piece of junk. The user has to first check with the locality’s reception capabilities before going for this product.

SONY BRAVIA KDL-26L5000 LCD TV – THE BEST BARGAIN FOR AN ENTRY LEVEL HDTV

[affmage source="amazon" results="10"]sony kdl-26l5000[/affmage]If the need is for a second television that can be used in the bedroom etc, or for a TV that can nicely fit in a cabinet of a moderate size in the living room, the twenty six inch LCD from Sony Bravia can be a satisfactory choice. As the size is smaller than most of the LCDs that are sold, it can be considered an entry level model that does not negotiate on the basic functions and also offers a great deal of additional features which most of the users find striking.

To start with, the sharpness of the picture and the sound output are more than adequate for a small TV. The unit is also very light and makes it easy to mount it anywhere the user wants. The device has a lot if input options and hence can be used in various other ways than just watch plain television. It can be used as a monitor for a computer, play station etc. The setup is very easy and has a lot of HDMI connections that can be used. The picture quality is outstanding at 720p and is even better when used to watch blu-ray discs on it. DVDs also appear to be a lot better on it than any of the alternate models. It is also very attractive to look at, as it comes with a black dull finish and not the glossy one which, in fact reflects light and makes it difficult while watching the screen.

The remote control of the TV is very easy to use with various functions and well organized buttons, but the best part is that the same can be used as a universal remote for any other device at home. The clarity and color remains stable over large vertical viewing angles making it convenient when there is a larger audience. Also, there is an option of choosing between viewing the screen as zoom, wide or normal. The image does not become stretched awkwardly when the options are used and makes even the scroll on the bottom of the screen visible with ease. And Sony is a brand name the user cannot ignore when deciding to purchase a piece of technology. Once done, it would never let the user down but in fact make him even happier with the features and the price tag.

There is an efficient tuner in the device but it does not show the strength of the signal when the user is trying to use the device as a portable one and that makes it difficult in positioning the antenna. The screen turns much darker after there’s a dark scene coming on the TV and then turns to normal almost instantly. This can be quite disturbing to the users especially if they are watching in a low light area. There is no Electronic Program Guide, which is again disappointing to a few customers.

It can be best used as a bedroom set due to its size and on the whole, this is a great HD TV for the price, and that too coming from a big brand makes it even better.

Rear Projection Televisions are occasionally referred to as RPTVs and are frequently a reasonable pick for those who want a large screen TV. The brand names that are currently designing rear projection televisions include JVC, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, RCA, Hitachi and Sony. Even though many television manufacturers have left the field and turned instead to the higher priced, LCD flat panel televisions, the manufacturers which are carrying on are employing the latest advancements designed to benefit rear projection televisions.

[affmage source="amazon" results="2"]rear projection hdtv[/affmage]

As of this writing, manufacturers are employing three perfectly usable forms of rear projection televisions. These are those that use CRT technology (small cathode ray tubes), LCD projector technology and digital light processing. There are good and bad points about employing each of the rear projection technologies, although more and more rear projection televisions today are made to accommodate either an LCD projector lamp or digital light processing.

Rear Projection Televisions have proven to be the best option for large screen TVs seeing as they can deliver a clear picture that is not distorted. Up until around 2004, the CRT rear projection televisions had been overwhelmingly chosen by viewers for the reasons that they produced state of the art audio and video, yet they were also reasonably priced. Most customers preferred RPTVs rather than the LCD flat panel televisions since they proved to be far lower priced, despite the fact that they cannot be suspended from a wall like an LCD TV.

[affmage source="amazon" results="2"]rear projection tv 1080p[/affmage]

The idea behind rear projection televisions is that they receive a small picture from a digital video signal, then enlarge this image to cover the screen. Rear projection televisions are digitally enhanced to pick up this type of signal so it can offer a crisper display than a regular television.

In addition to getting a state of the art image and stereo sound from a reasonably priced television, many customers who own the rear projection televisions appreciate them because RPTVs project a digital picture. Digital signals are scheduled to be the exclusive signal for television transmissions by mid 2009, and quite a few television stations have currently ceased transmitting analog signals. Quite a few customers will discover that a person could get a new, digital quality projection TV and spend no more than the price they would pay for a digital converter box. This might be the most attractive feature of the rear projection televisions.

[affmage source="amazon" results="2"]Rear Projection Televisions[/affmage]

Despite the fact that these units are not as slender as flat panel machines, today's rear projection televisions have been substantially thinner and more lightweight than recently manufactured projection televisions. Although LCD televisions offer the benefit of the flat screen, more and more customers feel that rear projection televisions offer a larger number of viewing angles, especially those that use a CRT projector. CRT rear projection televisions ordinarily are especially long lasting also because rear projection technology has been perfected during the previous couple of years.

The DLP rear projection televisions produce state of the art viewing and a more slender television model than the CRT projected televisions and seem to be the new direction for RPTVs. Digital Light Projection is able to offer more viewing angles and a DMD chip which may be simple for anyone to replace, in addition to a appliance that is comparatively slim and features remarkable audio and video quality. If you are in the market for rear projection televisions, you may want to look for companies that are now employing DLP technology.

Who could have ever thought it would have been possible? 09/09/09 has become a red-letter date in the history of Beatle-dom. It could be the repetitive nature of the phrase "Number Nine, Number Nine" featured in the track "Revolution 9" from "The White Album". Or, even the bit of dialogue "dial 9-9-9" from the 1965 motion picture "Help!" However, 09/09/09 has become important for a far better reason

It was reported Harrison was shocked when he heard the stereo, long after it was issued.

If you grew up with The Beatles as I did, you will connect strongly with this anthology. It couldn't be better since we finally have a biography spoken from Paul, John, George, & Ringos perspective. The honesty offered from them in regard to the past, their music, their lives, and travels is surprising and a refreshing standpoint from all of the written material available. The reunion with the remaining three at the time was as touching as it gets and made me realize, this was a retrospective of not only their lives....but mine. They have no idea the positive impact they had on my life and I will eternally be grateful for that. This is a MUST have for all Beatles fans even if you didn't grow up with them. The information it provides will certainly bring you closer than you could ever be, and its worth every minute.

The documentaries contain archival footage, rare photographs and never-before-heard studio chat from The Beatles, offering a unique and very personal insight into the studio atmosphere. The albums have been remastered at Abbey Road Studios in London utilizing state of the art recording technology alongside vintage studio equipment, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. Within the CDs new packaging, the booklet includes detailed historical notes along with informative recording notes. Capitol.

The sound quality improvement is barely noticeable in comparison to the old CDs. The Beatles needed a new mix, not a new master. Instead of a new, flawless experience like the one to be found on the Yellow Submarine Songtrack disc, which remixed the tracks into "proper" "modern" stereo, these discs still use the old "ping-pong" extreme stereo separation found on prior releases. I have to shake my head and almost laugh when I compare "Eleanor Rigby" off of Yellow Submarine Songtrack to the remaster of Revolver - a CD released ten years ago does a better job, BY FAR!

From what Ive read elsewhere, even the people who remastered the albums themselves mention the hardest part was not being allowed to go in and properly remix the tracks. If the people who fixed these up themselves admit to this problem, you know something isnt right with Apples marketing strategy. I dont really understand the concept here - the problem with the old CDs, to me, was never the quality of the master, but the cheap, pan-less, different-than-any-other-band stereo separation. If the intention is to release the "coveted" original stereo mixes, followed a few years from now with fully and properly mixed tracks, Ill wait. Im going to give my set away as a gift as its not worth it to me. Giles, George, where are you guys, and why would you do this to us?

If you're looking to hear the Beatles in good sound quality, buy the Yellow Submarine Songtrack. If you can stand a little bit of mashing, pick up the Love cd. Otherwise, wait until they do things right.

What you need to enjoy your Netflix Player by Roku:
An active Netflix membership with unlimited rentals
If you’re already a Netflix member getting unlimited DVDs, you’re all set. If not, sign up now for an unlimited plan (starting as low as $8.99 a month).
Any high-speed Internet connection – DSL, Cable or FiOS
Typical high-speed connections easily meet the player’s 1.5 Mbps minimum recommended speed. (If you’re unsure of your connection speed, you should ask your Internet service provider.)
Wireless or wired Internet access at your TV
Your Internet connection needs to reach your TV for the player to work. If you’ve ever surfed the Web or retrieved e-mail from the room where your TV is, you should be fine.
A television – young or old
Obviously you need a TV. The standard cables included with the player will connect it to virtually any television.
